This CCPA Privacy Notice governs the manner in which FactJournal (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) processes information collected from consumers who reside in the State of California (“Consumers”) as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this Notice. This Notice is an integral part of our Privacy Policy — undefined terms used here carry the meaning from our Privacy Policy.

Part I: Information Practices

Categories of Personal Information We Collect

Under the CCPA, Personal Information is any information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular consumer, household, or device.

Personal Information does not include:

  • Publicly available information lawfully made available from government records

  • De-identified or aggregated consumer information

  • Information excluded from CCPA/CPRA scope (e.g., HIPAA-covered health data, FRCA, GLBA, FIPA, or Driver’s Privacy Protection Act data)

FactJournal has collected the following categories of personal information within the last 12 months:

Sources of Personal Information

  • Directly from you — when you contact us or inquire about our services

  • Indirectly from your activity — usage data collected automatically via measurement tools

  • Your tracked activity — when you view or interact with content, web pages, or ads

  • Third parties — vendors, advertising networks, analytics providers, social networks, and data brokers


Use of Personal Information

We may use collected Personal Information to:

  • Fulfill the reason you provided the information (support, queries, etc.)

  • Monitor and improve our services

  • Provide and operate our services

  • Market our services

  • Analyze our services and your usage

  • Respond to law enforcement

  • As otherwise detailed in our Privacy Policy

We will not use Personal Information for materially different or incompatible purposes without prior notice.


Disclosure of Personal Information for Business Purposes

When we disclose Personal Information to contractors or service providers, we enter contracts requiring them to keep it confidential and use it only for the agreed purpose. We restrict them from selling or sharing your Personal Information.

Some disclosures may constitute a “sale” or “share” as defined under CCPA. FactJournal discloses the following categories for commercial purposes: identifiers, internet activity, non-precise geolocation data, and inferences.

Children Under Age 16

We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 16.


Data Retention

We retain each category of personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, and as required to:

  • Achieve the original processing purpose (e.g., retaining contact info until your inquiry is resolved)

  • Comply with regulatory obligations (e.g., transactional data retained up to 7 years for bookkeeping)

  • Resolve claims or disputes, including legal proceedings, until resolved and beyond if required by applicable limitation periods

Except as required by law, we are not obligated to retain data for any specific period and may delete it at any time without prior notice.

How to Exercise Your Rights

You can opt out of cross-contextual behavioral advertising or the sale of Personal Information through:

  • The “Do Not Sell or Share My Information” link in the footer of our website

  • Device-level settings — limit data collection for interest-based ads through your device settings

  • Industry opt-out platforms — NAIDAA, or EDAA

  • Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals — globalprivacycontrol.org

Please note that opting out of interest-based advertising does not mean you will stop seeing ads — you may still receive non-targeted ads.

Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. We will require written proof of the agent’s authorization and may verify your identity directly.


Notice of Financial Incentive

We do not offer financial incentives to consumers in exchange for Personal Information.

Part III: Other California Obligations

Direct Marketing Requests: Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents may request information about disclosures of Personal Information to third parties for direct marketing. To submit such a request, contact us via our Contact Form.

Do Not Track: As of the effective date above, there is no commonly accepted response for Do Not Track signals. Therefore, FactJournal does not currently respond to Do Not Track settings. For more details, visit www.donottrack.us.


Additional Disclosures for Nevada Residents

Nevada law requires businesses to provide a designated address for Nevada consumers to request that their personal information not be sold.
