Do Not Sell My Personal Data

Notice of Right to Opt Out of “Sale” of Personal Information

Beginning January 1, 2020, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) provides California residents with certain rights with respect to their personal information, including the right to opt out of certain disclosures of personal information as explained below.

FactJournal offers users certain options based on these rights, including the right to opt out of the “sale” of personal information. This notice is governed by our Privacy Policy and defined terms herein shall have the meaning assigned to them therein.

FactJournal collects information from or about you, including personal information, when you use our Website as described in our Privacy Policy.

We disclose certain information we collect about you for purposes that may be considered a “sale” under the CCPA. For example, we may disclose information to advertising partners, advertising technology companies, and companies that perform advertising-related services in order to provide you with relevant advertising.

Your Right to Opt Out

Under the CCPA, you have the right to opt out of the “sale” of your personal information. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

To exercise your right to opt out, please contact us at hello@FactJournal.com with the subject line “CCPA Opt-Out Request.” We will process your request on a going-forward basis.

Please note that even if you opt out, you will continue to receive ads on our Website — they may simply be less tailored to your interests.

Additional Controls & Choices

You have additional controls with respect to the collection and use of your information by third parties:

  • Some third parties that collect information from or about you participate in the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) Self-Regulatory Program or are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”). To make choices about interest-based advertising on websites, please visit the DAA and the NAI.

  • To manage interest-based advertising within mobile applications, you can download the DAA’s AppChoices application at www.aboutads.info/appchoices or from your device’s app store.

FactJournal may still use your data — in a way that does not constitute a “sale” under the CCPA — to deliver contextual advertising, conduct cross-device tracking for first-party ads, or for non-interest-based purposes such as attribution and analytics.

For any questions regarding our data sharing practices, please contact us at hello@FactJournal.com.
